Situation

Founded in 1964, Tech-Way Industries Inc. Franklin, Ohio is a 2nd generation family run enterprise with a reputation for precision, quality and service. Their 90,000 SQF state-of-the-art operation carries UL and ITAR certification as well as ISO 9001:2015 compliance. Additionally, they provide robust service from “concept to creation” offering capabilities such as class 7&8 cleanrooms, CNC, finishing, decorating and other allied services. Their clients include: appliance, medical, military, firearms, automotive, sporting goods, prosthetics, etc. Processing a variety of “high temp” resins such as pre-colored glass-filled polycarbonates, Polyetherimide (PEI) and others, creates challenging purging transitions. To maintain operational efficiency and contain costs they approached Dyna-Purge seeking alternate products or methods to improve their purging outcomes. Their stated objective being to reduce costly resin loss through transition and to capture productivity gains through usage efficiency.

Solution

Tech-Way identified Dyna-Purge’s new “E4” high-temp, engineered purging compound.

E4 offered Tech-Way improved purging performance up to 715°F with lower oxidization, lower smoke emission and enhanced thermal stability. Additionally, E4 has improved purging and post-purging process characteristics as well as “sealing” performance for shut-down/start ups, due to this product’s proprietary 4X technology matrix.
